What laser cleaning is
Laser precision where grit, solvent and wire were once the only options.
Short, high-energy laser pulses hit the surface and are absorbed by whatever sits on top of it — oxide, paint, oil, carbon, biofilm. That contamination heats instantly, expands and leaves as vapour and fine particulate, captured at source by extraction.
The clean substrate beneath reflects far more of the beam than the contamination did, so it absorbs very little energy and stays cool and intact. The process is self-limiting. That is what makes it safe on thin panels, original tooling marks, cast iron and dressed stone alike.

Removes the contamination and a layer of the substrate with it. Warps thin panel, and the spent media becomes waste.
Slow, hazardous run-off
Dwell times, neutralising, containment and disposal — plus a hazardous liquid you cannot use near water or livestock.
Inconsistent, labour-heavy
Wire wheels and flap discs cut into the parent material and cannot reach pitting, weld toes or detail.

Flash rust to heavy pitted corrosion taken back to clean, bright parent metal — including inside pits, where abrasives cannot reach.
Coating and paint removal
Selective, layer-by-layer stripping. Lift a topcoat and leave the primer, or go to bare substrate — controlled by parameter.
Graffiti removal
Spray paint lifted from brick, stone, render and signage without water, chemicals or a shadow where the tag was.
Smoke damage
Soot and smoke staining removed from steel, masonry and timber after fire, with the material beneath left as found.
Precision equipment cleaning
Tooling, plant and instrumentation cleaned dry and in place, with no solvent, no water and usually no strip-down.
Injection mould cleaning
Release agent, gassing deposit and carbon cleared from cavities and vents without touching the tool finish.
NDT surface preparation
Inspection areas cleaned without abrasive impact, so surface-breaking defects are left visible rather than peened over.

Photos or a site visit. We identify substrate, coating stack and contamination, and confirm laser cleaning is the right method.
Test patch
A small trial area sets power, pulse and speed, and shows you the finish before the whole item is committed.
Clean
Controlled area set up, extraction running, LSO supervision. On site at your yard or in our workshop.
Hand back
Surface inspected, wiped down and, where wanted, passivated or primed the same day so it does not flash rust.
